The Pacific Art Foundation (“Foundation”) was established in 1994 as a public benefit, non-profit corporation. The mission of the Foundation is to assemble a high quality, permanent collection of American artwork, including paintings, sculpture and works on paper. The collection is maintained and stored at The Pacific Club, Newport Beach California. The collection is available for public viewing, by invitation and for scholarly research and loans to other artistic institutions

The overarching goal of the Foundation is promote an active education program dialogue that will expand the understanding and appreciation of art and art connoisseurship. The Foundation completes its mission through the following activities.

Collection The Foundation’s collection focus is on American art of the 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries. The major focus is on the works of contemporary California artists
.
Education The Foundation sponsors a series of educational programs known as PAF Art Forums. The series is designed to inform and educate the public about artists and their works.

Scholarships Pacific Art Foundation is dedicated to promoting active education programs that will expand the understanding and appreciation of art and art connoisseurship in the community.

Occasionally, and when worthy recipients are identified, the Foundation confers the American Visual Arts Achievement Award. The objective of the award is to recognize an individual who has made a significant impact on the visual arts in southern California.

The Foundations major funding source is derived from sales of artworks, undertaken in partnership with local galleries. Meet the Artists are annual events held at The Pacific Club and provide an opportunity to meet a wide variety of artists in a relaxed setting to discuss their work. The key component at these events is the opportunity to purchase art with a part of the proceeds being donated by the gallery to the PAF.

All contributions to The Pacific Art Foundation are tax deductible and are used for the acquisition of original artwork, the underwriting of exhibitions and scholarships, and the publication of informative catalogs and brochures.
